Every few months, I answer the call of duty and check into Denver's only luxury boutique hotel, Hotel Teatro, to conduct my Manager on Duty shift. While other hotels now spare the cost, Hotel Teatro promotes the highest level of service on weekends by having a manager at your beck and call, 24 hours a day. Instead of couch riding and college football-watching, today is my turn to be of direct service to the guest...a true sacrifice, indeed.
From the moment I arrive, I am treated as every guest at Hotel Teatro. The finest bellmen in Denver provide an outstanding welcome, take my bags, valet my car, and walk me to the front desk. Check-in is pleasant, efficient and pain-free, and I am escorted to my room. My bellmen explains the amenities of the room and offers to bring me ice. I immediately fall onto the most comfortable bed in Denver, and take it all in. I must endure this all weekend.
I enjoy mingling with guests, opening doors and answering the occasional question, but I am so impressed simply to just stand and watch. People are so happy here. Front desk agents are polite and dressed to the nines. Our concierge is classy and insightful. Guests are so appreciative and at peace. There is no greater satisfaction at work (that I know) than to witness and experience joy and pride. People come through our doors to attend Denver meetings. develop business or see a show. But when they stay at Hotel Teatro, they experience a level of service they will not soon forget...it really makes my day to see our staff being the difference.
Dinner is exquisite. Following the "Wicked" theatre rush at Prima Ristorante, I dine at a quiet table and indulge in wild mushroom arancini and seared halibut. Kevin Taylor's culinary expertise continues to amaze me. Following a perfect meal, I check in on the private dinners, a 40th birthday party on the Kevin Taylor Mezzanine and a medical dinner in the Kevin Taylor Wine Cellar. We have the loveliest private dining and luxury meeting facilities.
Later we reset the Wine Cellar for a photo shoot the next morning...a private Denver television channel wishes to capture the beauty of Hotel Teatro on tape, and we are happy to welcome them. One more check of the public areas, and then a return to my beautiful guestroom. Turndown service has been prepared, including Belgian chocolates and the television remote control placed on today's open TV Guide page. Light orchestral music graces the iHome docking station radio waves, and it takes mere minutes for relax and fall asleep.
I awake in the morning completely refreshed. What an honor it is to experience what our guests do every day...I look forward to your reviews the next time you have the opportunity to stay with us!
